Information on work undertaken by Phoenix Security & Event Safety Ltd, that is in the local news.

Sunday 25th March 2012

Phoenix Security and Event Safety were proud to be this years offical Security and Stewarding provider for the Hastings Half Marathon. We provided manned guarding of the start/finish line while providing Event Stewards and Door Supervisors to key points around the course.

The Hastings Half Marathon is organised by The Hastings Lions Club to raise monies for needy causes, and to promote our Historic and Wonderful town of Hastings. Runners are encouraged to raise monies for their own special causes that are close to their Heart. It is ideal preparation for the London Marathon, both in training, and getting big event experience in a 5000 strong field.

After a highly successful 2012 event, the team are already looking forward to next years event.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) left the Pier just after 9.30pm last night after a successful crane operation to make safe the copper dome which formed the roof of the north eastern turret at the entrance to the Pier. The Pier was then left secure with no emergency services present, but with Phoenix Security stopping people from walking beneath the Pier.

Our control room in Carlisle Base then noticed a flare up at around 3.00am and called back ESFRS. They tackled the fire from the beach, and left the scene at about 7.00am. The A259 was temporarily closed again, but was reopened by 7.00am.

There have been further collapses of buildings on the Pier into the sea.
